Fungirl is a young woman without prospects, who spends her days at home masturbating, eating take-out pizza and watching old sitcoms. She dashes from one affair to another, is unrestrained and extreme in everything she does. Her new job at a funeral parlour brings a new form of chaos – her life is a sequence of absurd, politically incorrect, slapstick-type situations. With Becky, her neighbour and ex-girlfriend, as well as Becky’s boyfriend Peter, Fungirl experiences an absurd adventure filled with alcohol, sex and humour. Her conduct is inappropriate, vulgar, opportunistic, and nevertheless (or perhaps because of that) surprisingly human and charming. An ode to screw-ups with a heart of gold!
For the International Comic Salon Erlangen, Elizabeth Pich and Edition Moderne stage a sacred space in typical Fungirl style, with lots of humour, and hallelujah. Let’s celebrate!
