Born in 1964, he has worked as a freelance journalist and author for over three decades. In 1992, he published the first German-language book about the most famous comedy duo in film history: Laurel & Hardy - Their Lives, Their Films. Over the past 20 years, Blees has mainly written radio features for public broadcasters. His feature Mythos Kennedy - Leben und Sterben des JFK was honoured with the 1st Radio Prize of the RIAS Berlin Commission.
