Richard Briggs has been exploring and sketching streets in various places around the world for over 20 years. These include numerous countries in Europe, South East Asia and Australasia. He is an artist and architect teaching drawing and architecture at Sydney based universities. His work includes fine, detailed sketches of simple lines as well as large-scale tape artworks in public spaces in cities such as Sydney and Melbourne. His main focus is on the connection between the city and community. From the finer details to large expansive lines of urban spaces, his sketches highlight the quirks which aim to convey a sense of place.
