Dunja Schnabel was born in 1970 as the 15th child of the 17-member Schnabel family. She studied communication design in Mainz and then worked as a graphic designer and illustrator in Berlin for two years. She has lived in Hamburg with her husband and three children since 2000. Dunja Schnabel has already illustrated several children's and school books and will present her comic debut "Der große Wurf. Familienalltag XXL", which was partly created during the International Comic Seminar Erlangen.
