Amelie Persson
Amelie Persson is a German-Swedish artist, author and illustrator with a studio in Frankfurt am Main. Self-employed since 2011, she has lived and worked in New York and London for five years. Her work includes exhibitions - most recently a mural for the Historisches Museum Frankfurt, the design of an advertising pillar, display of sketchbooks and original book illustrations for exhibitions at the Klingspor Museum Offenbach with accompanying talks. Amelie Persson is a lecturer in illustration at a private university in Frankfurt, has been the artistic director of a grammar school art project for over a year and occasionally gives workshops. Her artistic work focuses on capturing moments in quick drawings, including everyday family situations. These unfiltered notes and quick sketches serve as inspiration for comics and free projects. Amelie Persson has already given talks on her artistic approach at design faculties (HTW Berlin, FH Potsdam, Birkbeck London) and at international congresses (LDC London, Graphic Medicine Chicago, CAF Gothenburg). She is currently working on contributions to several comic anthologies and a personal project on the subject of care work, which was funded by the Ottilie Roederstein Art Scholarship of the State of Hesse.
