Gian Luca Maconi attended the Cordenons State School of Art until 1996 and then the Venice Academy of Art, where he graduated in sculpture in 2003. In 2004, his comic "The Shadows of the Lagoon" was awarded best comic by Torinocomics. Since then he has worked continuously as a comic artist and published, among others, the Hendrix biography "Electric Requiem" (written by Mattia Colombara). Since 2012, he has been working closely with the French publishing house Soleil, where he is a permanent part of the drawing team of the successful fantasy concept series around "Arran", especially the Wood Elf series. On the side, however, Gian Luca also finds time to support projects from other publishers such as Disney and Bonelli. In 2022, he founded "Tentacle" with his partner Andrea Scoppetta to realise independent projects.
