Ika Sperling was born in Mainz in 1996 and studied illustration at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg. In 2023, she was the first comic author to receive a scholarship as Rottweiler Stadtschreiberin, and was also awarded the Hamburg Literature Prize. Ika Sperling lives and works in Hamburg, where she is part of the organising team of the Hamburg Comic Festival. Her graphic novel debut "Der große Reset" will be published by Reprodukt in May 2024.
