Markus Pfalzgraf in conversation with Kate Charlesworth (in English)
"We should all know our history," writes Kate Charlesworth in the foreword of her book "United Queerdom" – nominated for the Max und Moritz Award. Her own life can particularly stand as a testament to the development of the queer scene over the past decades: Charlesworth narrates in her illustrated memoirs about childhood and adolescence in constant tension between the British church and coming out. Later, she finds herself in art and activism, in constant interrelation with the major themes and developments of her time. And always aware that her story is one of thousands of others in the world of people who identify as LGBTQI+.
