Dune spends every summer vacation with her family in the south-west coast of France, where she also visits her best friend Mathilde. Together they explore the nearby forests, spy on the teenagers in the camp afterwards, sneak into parties and secretly watch horror movies. This summer, however, turns out to be different than the ones before. Last summer, Dune’s vacation with her family was cancelled due to reasons still unknown to her. She begins to perceive adults differently and seeks to get to the bottom of their secrets. A touching coming-of-age story starring Gael García Bernal and Chiara Mastroianni among others. The film is based on the graphic novel “Ein Sommer am See” by Mariko and Jillian Tamaki that won the Max und Moritz Award in the category of Best International Comic.
