The illustrator and comic artist Nele Peer Jongeling, born in 1996 in Bremen, studied Communication Design and Storytelling in Düsseldorf and Brussels. Her works are mostly autobiographical and discuss topics such as feminism, gender, and sexuality. Her latest graphic novel "Emil:ia" was published by Jaja Verlag in 2022 and addresses her own gender detransition. In addition to her work as an illustrator, she advocates for the visibility and support of detransitioners, conducts workshops and readings, and is working on new comic projects.
