Andreas Kiener was born in 1986 at the tender age of zero, obtained his high school diploma a few years later and shortly afterwards set off for the city to complete the preliminary design course at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts HSLU. The internships that followed inevitably led him to study for a Bachelor of Arts in Illustration, Design & Art at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Andreas became the co-founder and co-editor of Ampel Magazine, which has been published continuously since 2010 and was awarded the Max und Moritz-Award for the "Best Student Publication" in Erlangen. The work of Ampel Magazin has been exhibited throughout Switzerland, for example at the Cartoonmuseum Basel and at the main exhibition of Fumetto, the international comic festival in Lucerne. Andreas Kiener's work has also been shown abroad, for example in Krasnoyarsk, São Paulo and London. Andreas Kiener has published several children's books and published his debut work "Odysseus" with Edition Moderne in 2018. He published his second volume, "Unvermögen", in 2021 and its sequel, "Allmacht", in 2024. Andreas Kiener enjoys cooking together, occasionally helps out in a microbrewery to increase the variety of local beers and lives with his family in Lucerne, where he works as a freelance author, comic artist and illustrator in a shared studio.
