Mars Express (FR 2023)

In the year 2200, in the city of Noctis in Mars, robotics-student Jun Chow disappears without a trace. The private detective Aline Ruby and the Android Carlos Rivera are tasked with finding her. As the duo advance deeper into the underbelly of this city on the red planet, the investigation circles around two questions: what role does the disappearance of Jun play in the struggle between robots and humans, and how are more and more androids deviating from their programming to rebel against their owners? This animated film made in the classic Franco-Belgian style asks highly relevant questions about artificial intelligence in a fabulously animated sci-fi neo-noir thriller that premiered in Cannes in 2023.
