Vinz Schwarzbauer (born 1987 in Graz) studied fine arts in Vienna and Hamburg. He works as a comic artist and illustrator and, together with other artists, published the magazine for narrative drawing — Franz the Lonely Astronaut — for 12 years. Since 2023, he has been part of the curatorial team of the Kabinett Comic Passage at the MuseumsQuartier (MQ) in Vienna. As an illustrator, he has worked for, among others, the city newspaper Falter, Jacobin Magazine, the daily newspaper Der Standard, the Burgtheater in Vienna, the Residenztheater in Munich, and the architecture firm Alles Wird Gut. In the spring of 2023, his graphic novel debut Mäander was published by Edition Moderne.
