Oscar® Shorts 2024 Animation (IR/FR/IL/US/UK 2023)

Five films were nominated in the category of Animated Short Film at the Academy Awards in 2024: In “Our Uniform”, an Iranian girl unravels her memories from the material of her old school uniform. “Letter to a Pig” revolves around a holocaust-survivor, who writes a letter to a pig that had saved his life. In “Pachyderme”, Louise visits her grandparents in the countryside during the holidays: it snows in peak summer, and a monster dies. “Ninety-Five Senses” tells the story of a man who has little time left, to enjoy his five senses. In “War is over! Inspired by the Music of John & Yoko”, two soldiers from opposing sides in an alternative version of the First World War play chess and a messenger dove carries the chess pieces. Additionally, the programme includes the two pre-nominated films “Wild Summon” and “I’m Hip”.
