Robot Dreams (ES/FR 2023)

Dog is lonely. He lives in a small apartment in Manhattan and spends most of his time in front of the television. Dinner in the evenings consists only of microwave meals and he has hardly any social contact. When one day, Dog sees an advertisement about a robot-buddy, he buys one without hesitation. The two of them are inseparable and spend the summer together. However, he has to leave Robo back at the beach because he has a defect that needs to be fixed. When Dog comes back the next day to repair Robo, he finds that the beach is closed until the next season. Will the two of them find each other again?
“Robot Dreams” is a touching and humorous film about friendship, full of small, affectionate details, that was nominated for the category Best Animated Film at the 2024 Academy Awards.
